SoLux Daylight Lamp Information

SoLux( is a patented tungsten halogen source that emits a beam of true natural light for optimal color rendering.. SoLux( is currently available as a 50 watt low voltage lamp in a standard MR-16 format. It provides the user with "daylight" at a CCT of 4700K (Correlated Color Temperature), CRI of 99.35 (Color Rendering Index), has a lifetime of 3000 hours, ultra-low U.V. and I.R. and is very reasonably priced. The lamp is available in four beam spreads of 10(, 17(, 24( and 36(.

We use the 24° lamps most applications up to 3 to 4 feet or the 17° for more intense lighting needs.

With SoLux you won't "cook it or bleach it out", you'll just make it look great!

We also carry an excellent Low Voltage MR-16 Track Lighting Fixture that we highly recommend for use with the SoLux( Lamps. Be careful, not all low voltage fixtures are created the same! We have done extensive testing on several manufactures' fixtures and found that most put out something less than 12 volts under load. We found readings from 8.15 to 11.8 volts (the 11.8 ones cost $140.00 each!). The SoLux( lamps will only perform well with load voltages in the 11.8 to 12.2 volts. These fixtures are available in Halo or Juno compatible. We recommend the Halo type fixture as they are a three conductor grounded track and fixture.

As you can see the output voltage of the fixture is very critical if you want your SoLux™ Daylight Lamps to perform at their best and make your gems look their best! 11.6-12.2 volts is acceptable.

Photographic use:
If you have a way to drive these lamps at 15.0 volts they will produce a 5500K color temperature which is what daylight film is balanced for.

Pricing:
SoLux™ Daylight Lamps are $14.95 each, 25-60 $12.50 ea. and 61 and up $11.75 ea.

Low Voltage Track Lighting Fixtures in white only are $36.00 each. Also available is our Trade Show Track Support System, call for pricing.
